    Footballers are on PAYE for the club earnings.

    However, any sponsorship, advertising, branding, merchandising etc (think Beckham etc) is always on a separate ltd, and yes, it will be paid offshore, non-dom, tax free etc.

    So don't be fooled, they pay a tiny fraction of their "earnings" as taxable income.

    But that's okay, it's "fair".
