I'm taking care of the little guy whilst wife studies for an exam on Tuesday. And getting a quote on some damage to the car - my wife was run into from the back. the insurance company has told us its our job to collect from the other side....great! this could go on for weeks/months!

If you been you've paid it off, then yes you are making a mistake.
