Sadly i have someone in family that I think was pushed to leave the country due to some circumstances.
I think it is more common than we think and happening with vulnerable and low skilled people but still residents of this country. The scandals we had on news where certain groups were abused were not aimed to show redemption or stark realisation and seeking progress, just a preview of the current policies... and to get the stupids to buy in their rogue policies.
And if you are EU citizen with settled status and technically safe, you could always be deported with a legal incident that you might not have the ability to fight... so quite different than what it was.
but yeah... fish

EU citizens are being offered financial incentives to leave the UK, the Guardian has learned, months before the deadline to apply for settled status has passed.
From 1 January EU citizens have quietly been added to the government’s voluntary returns scheme where financial support is offered as an encouragement to return to their country of origin.
Payments can include flights and up to £2,000 resettlement money. The scheme is designed to help some migrants in the UK to leave voluntarily.“

What are we going to do without Eastern European beggars on every street?
I suppose it stops aTw having to deploy his army of dancing squirrels to collect enough for a bus ticket.
