    It could be because our standards of pre-natal care and midwifery are so high that they are able to go home early.

    Mrs BP hated being in hospital after giving birth. Way too many screaming babies. They should make maternity wards more like John Lewis really.

    When she did fall asleep she was prodded by a nurse for minor checks.

    When her consultant came along she said she wanted to go home. Consultant checked her and said fine. Nurse said "sister has not approved". Consultant "I am in charge".....
