where to find tenders?

I have been setup with Orderwork now for a couple of years and have managed to get a couple of gigs through this

Mainly Server installs and desktop rollouts but every little helps

Had some experience of doing this from putting tenders out...it depends what size you're going after...generally I'd assume a company only puts a formal tender out if it needs to (for govt stuff) or if it's over a certain size EU journal stuff.

A lot of other places have preferred supplier lists, so will only got to them for a quote (as long as its under the EU journal limit) - getting onto them can be an expensive, time consuming pain.

If I was looking from a smaller company, would prob just contact main players in the marketplace / some companies I know. So your best bet might be to network in the area you want to work, press the flesh, get the business cards out there. You could try and get a meeting to discuss what you can offer, take along a nice pressie for the MD to keep you in his mind, and try a loss leader project to get things moving??

That said, I have seen the odd thing in some specialist magazines - marketing departments normally rifle through them for work...again specialist magazines for industry sectors probably a good bet.

I know a couple, but you have to pay to get the tenders in the first place. Not sure how big these projects are, but the language used is a little intimidating. I probably need someone to stand between my company and the end client

Where would i find companies running tenders for work? I'm lookin gfor more than just public sector, altho the education sector would suit us greatly!
