Could you put this guy right then:

The environment secretary, Michael Gove, said last week his “heart went out” to those caught up in the clashes, and insisted, “these are French waters – it’s the responsibility of the French to ensure that those who have a legal right to fish can continue to fish uninterrupted”.

    Bog off Froggy!

And here’s that same British boat in action, dredging undersized shellfish.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-a8512581.html

In December 2016 the Honeybourne III’s master, a Mr Poland, and Macduff Fishing Fleet admitted breaching fishing regulations after undersized shellfish were uncovered by a search in Shoreham, West Sussex.

At Worthing Magistrates’ Court the company was fined £16,409 and ordered to pay £3,567 in legal costs after some 2.65 metric tonnes of scallops in the boat’s hold were found to be under the prescribed size of 110mm, put in place to conserve stocks. The boat’s master was fined £1,400 and ordered to pay £150 in costs.
2.65 metric ******* tonnes of undersized scallops, and a bit of a slap on the wrist is all they get.

Looks like he learned his lesson, though. Next paragraph:

In November 2017, Macduff Shellfish and the Honeybourne III’s then-master, David Marr, pleaded guilty at Worthing Magistrates’ Court to catching scallops that were too small.
    Perhaps not.

But let’s all celebrate the plucky Brits though....

Rightly, too, imo, due to this being the scallop spawning season. If the scallops are harvested early (ie now) then there will be a greatly reduced catch for anyone (British or French) next year.

Nothing to do with Brexit, just fishermen being *******.

Hmm its not a too bendy banana its one not of abnormal curvature. Any normal person would recognise that as being unable to sell one which is too bendy.

A bit like the EU army doesn't exist it is really a NAAFI.

Oh, and the main offenders can hardly be called “British”:

Worse, from the French point of view, the relatively small British boats that used to come over from Newlyn and Brixham in the West Country have been joined by mega-boats from Scotland. One of the vessels attacked on Tuesday night was the Honeybourne III from Peterhead, a Scottish vessel belonging to a Canadian-owned company.

The French fishermen complain that the large boats, with heavier dredging tackle and freezing equipment, are capable of hoovering up enough scallops in one day to keep local fishermen in work for a month. They also claim – and this is disputed – that the large ships leave the seabed like a “ploughed field”.
