I am with NatWest at the moment, fees can be a little OTT but that depends on the type of account you are on, but their online and mobile banking provisions are second to none!

BACS or Faster Payment? BACS I used to do in two chunks a day apart, FP has a higher limit so I haven't needed to worry. The default boundaries are set by the money laundering regulations, not HSBC. the delay is whle they credit check your company.

Interesting. I had to raise my hsbc business account limits to 100K when I was buying property. I think you would have this problem with any bank account.. After I cancelled the comercial card am paying zero fees with hsbc, so am fairly happy with em.
So I use hsbc as current account and INGDirect for business savings, they pay 1.99% (in first year)

I am taking recommendations for alternatives, both business and private; I was Cater Allen previously but their online servicing was poor; has it improved?
