If you are registered online then check online for a notice, otherwise reference the P9X

I thought HMRC Basic PAYE tools did provide an on-screen notice telling you this.Last edited by FarmerPalmer; 20 April 2011, 19:09.

I read the P9X which said add 100 to the tax code unless you have a notice which said otherwise. So that's what I did.

Yes sorry, I meant 647L and 747L.
Basic PAYE tools states that it is up to date when pressing the "check for updates now" button under options.
To Clare@InTouch, I am registered for PAYE online and there are no coding notices there (in any case, there are forwarded to an email address I supplied). In order to change a tax code, you must select either the box that says "I have received a P6 from HMRC" or the box that says "I have received a P9(T) form or would like to carry out P9X tax code changes". Since you cannot change the tax code without selecting one of these, which one should I choose?
Thanks

If you just mean going from 647L to 747L then just do it, you don't need to wait for the coding notice.
Have you registered online for PAYE? You may find the coding notices there.

I have not received a P6 for any employee, though I have received these in the past. Neither have I received a P9. What should I do about changing the tax code? Or do I just wait?
Thanks
