i just started claiming all my recorded del postage costs, never used to do it before! Not a lot but better than nothing
-
I haven't claimed mine from previous 2 years. I know I should, but I'd become too lazy to claim the costs of stamps. I might start doing it from my next contract onwards though.Originally posted by The Wikir Man View PostYes - if it's a business expense, then claim it.
Bear in mind that the standard post office receipts are not VAT receipts if you require one.

There is no VAT on stamps. Postage when supplied by Royal Mail is VAT exempt.
If your business sells goods in parcels i.e. Postage & Packing to other businesses/consumers talk to your accountant.Last edited by SueEllen; 20 March 2010, 15:10.

Expenses query: Recorded delivery costs
Quickie: Do you expense recorded delivery postage costs?
There have probably been half a dozen times I have sent business letters via recorded delivery and never expensed the cost.
I use stamps that have been expensed but not expensed the cost of the recorded delivery service.Tags: None
