What's the deal. Do you get sent to jail if you spend company money that ought to have been paid in corporation tax?
Or do they just make the company and/or you bankrupt?

Time to pay
Getting back to the original question - yes, the government has introduced a "Business Payment Support Service" to assist businesses who are having difficulty meeting payment deadlines for tax. I have a few clients who have taken advantage of this and, so far, we have found them to be very accomodating. Note that interest will be paid on the late tax and I think they will want to set up direct debits to ensure the payment schedule is met.

I notice on the CT600 form the extra tax for my director’s loan was calculated? I assume this is in case I don't pay it back by then?

This link would seem to indicate that delayed payment of Corp Tax is a possibility. Think I may give them a ring - will report back here when I do.

Nah, I've got the money, but I'm looking ahead to the worst-case scenario where I have no income for three months.

Don't spend your CT (or VAT) money.

Time to Pay...
Am I right in thinking that the Gvt has introduced some measures whereby small businesses can apply for additional time to pay certain taxes?
Does it include CT?Tags: None
