Depends on what the issue is and where you are. Have used a couple and would particularly recommend one in Birmingham but like PP said you need to exhaust all options before you go legal, cos once you do go legal there is no looking back!

OP give us an idea of what is going on as there is no point spending money on lawyers as even if you have perceived the "employer" has broken the contract they may not have due to wording.

Could you give us some more details please? Both on where you are based and on the details.
I have used a great contract lawyer before - he is in Bromley. A local one is probably better for you?
But you might get alot of assistance from these forums.
