    Default Company on pause

A very interesting opportunity has presented itself but it is firmly inside ir35. If I took it, I would just leave the company not trading for a year. There's no immediate problems with that is there ?

Nope. Your accountant will advise what the situation is. Also ask them to reduce your charges while it's not trading. You'll have to stop paying yourself a wage for the time being but in the short term it's just like extended bench time.

Thanks, that's what I initially thought. And the fact it overlaps two financial years is a bonus as it will just look like the company had two not so good years (assuming return to previous model after this "experiment")

Are you taking a permanent position or a contract that is IR35 caught?
I keep pushing forwards but they keep pushing me backwards. So I have new rules. 1. Don't feed the trolls you know they have no souls. 2. Don't respond to them they'll only post back back again. 3. Don't be their friend they'll only knife you in the back. I have new rules I count them.

So your company needs to be paid? And the company pays you entirely as salary? Or are you proposing to use an umbrella?

Neither - wouldn't involve my company. Just go on payroll as PAYE temp member of staff (with no staff benefits )

Lol! Comments like that scare me. It's very lucrative and that's why I work at the end of the day.

    Sorry about that.

Pleased to here it is lucrative.

I am just not sure why they want you as a temp member of staff and not a contractor. As long as you get paid, who cares?
