    working in the EU

this is the first time for me to contract in Europe (Amsterdam), and I haven't got an accountant yet, can anyone let me know if sticking to my Ltd company and the British tax system is the best way to go or going through the Dutch tax system (obviously after getting the 30% ruling), I have spoked to an umbrella/accountancy company here in Holland, and they say it is best to freeze my Ltd company for the period of the contract in Holland and go for the 30% ruling, however they charge a lot of money, and other accountancy in the UK tell me it is best if I stick to my Ltd company?? can anyone shed any light?? and how much(aprox) do an accountnacy company in the uk changes for their service

    Hi Sandy

Not an expert on Dutch stuff but I believe you have to go through their system and can't use your UK Ltd.

I'm sure Simon or someone will confirm either way.

      hmm

I am sure I have read some documents saying that if I can prove that I have a house in the UK and have a family living in the UK and I go home at the weekends I will be considered an non Dutch resident and be exempt from the taxes, this is I think as long as I stay in Holland for around a year or so but after that I have to start paying Dutch taxes... not sue if this info right, it seems I can't get a non-biased opinion... I will appoint a private accountant (who happens to be the fiancé of a good friend of mine I hope he'll be able to advices me correctly.
