Thinking of setting up a site selling online using a shopping cart system
2 questions

1) I have heard of a tool/counter that allows you to check search engine for keywords searched. Anyone know where it is or if it is free

2) My site will have a little jpg beside the product description
If for example I am selling Heinz baked beans, and I am buying from Heinz to sell online, can I use a JPG picture without requesting permission each time

1) Never come across one. Besides, if search engines published the most popular keywords all the cowboys would stuff their sites with them just to get themselves up the ratings, regardless of whether they were relevant or not.

2) Depends on the terms and conditions under which you get hold of the images - one book supplier I dealt with will give you access to the jacket images they get from the publisher but charges anything up to 6k a year for the right to use them to promote their products. The safest way is to take pictures of the products yourself, but that's not always practical.

Fascinating. I notice the following from their list of top search keywords:

8 google
11 ebay
12 yahoo

Why on earth would people want to search for those names? Why not just go directly to the sites themselves? Or do a huge proportion of web users not understand the concept of bookmarks or typing in URLs?

On second thoughts, I probably know the answer to that already...
