There are couple of recent threads on here relating to child maintenance and CMS - have a search as they answer the questions you raise above.

Bump on this. Surely someone must be in a similar situation or have been in contact with CMS/CSA recently. Would be good to hear their experience / comments.

Also try some of the parenting forums. For example.. If you type the following in to google 'child maintenance company site:dad.info' you get 357 results

You've got to hope your ex isn't searching Mumsnet.com for the same information though. A lot of very angry women out for ripping their ex's a new one on there. Prey one of these isn't your ex!!!

Vary the search as well. Use LTD or limited instead of company etc...

Every post you've commented on of mine has had some type of hint of sarcasm, yet you didn't reply to one of my comments when you may have thought it would go another way. Either way thanks for the reply.

I've read mumsnets and agree theres plenty of angry women out there for ripping their ex's off. However, this "ex" if you want to call it that doesn't know a great deal about me so I doubt she will seek a variation of income. I've read other posts where the other parent paid maintenance of £7.50 a week because his salary was £103 a week. I guess my question is how is it initially calculated? Salary and dividends or just salary? There was conflicting advice in the other posts, also what measures I should be taking (i.e. decrease my salary from £702 a month to £402 a month or £103 a week or introduce new shareholders into the company in order to keep these payments as low as possible). I've asked my accountant but doesn't seem to be too much help at the moment, I'm trying to cover as much information as I can so I'm prepared.

Have you asked what she wants? Maybe she just wants her child to have a father. And maybe you should consider financially supporting the consequences of your actions.
If this goes down the CSA route your child will know nothing but hate between its parents.

Not judgemental, but she can’t have been that random if she has your contact details and had intercourse with you.

Are you saying you haven’t spoken to her in over a year?
Apart from the one liner about her saying the baby is yours, what else did she say that has led you to your first and only concern being your finances?
