They were setting up there anyway

Nothing to do with Brexit / they’re only the holding companies / we hold all the cards / Brexiter excuse du jour...

Nearly 20 banks have committed to launching new European Union hubs in Frankfurt since the Brexit vote, according to German officials.

The economy minister for the state of Hesse, where Frankfurt is situated, said the city was confident it would attract more, with another 60 firms yet to decide on additional EU headquarters.

Instead of German car companies coming to our rescue, it seems that Germany have recognised that securing the prize of financial services will more than offset any hit from a drop in car sales. Who’d have thought?

    (Hint: Not Davis/JRM/Fox etc)

Sounds like a win-win then, hopefully you can finally support Brexit as it will boost the EU with us leaving.

they've realised (always known) that the UK car industry is fecked so there's no competition. We'll just buy Skodas and Seats instead of Audis.

        Win-win for Germany then:

The Group comprises twelve brands from seven European countries: Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania and MAN. In addition, the Volkswagen Group offers a wide range of financial services, including dealer and customer financing, leasing, banking and insurance activities, and fleet management.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
