Netflix slow on LG Smart TV

I have an LG Smart TV (With LGWebOS).
Recently I have noticed Netflix being veeeerrryy slow...to the point unwatchable as it buffers every 10 seconds.
Ran a speed test via netflix and I get 0.5mbps!!!
The netflix app on my phone (When standing next to the tv) gets 40mbps.
Both are on the same wifi and all the other smart apps on the TV (Amazon/YouTube/IPlayer) all work fine.
Anyone else with an LG noticed this?

I've got a couple of LG TVs and their WebOS can be shocking at times.

I ended up spending £30 on an Amazon Fire stick because Youtube was no longer supported on the TV I had, then Amazon stopped Youtube, so I now use Firefox on an Amazon stick to launch Youtube.

Might be worth while trying to run Netflix through the web browser on the TV, rather than through the app to see if that helps.
Also check that the TV software is up to date.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Try switching everything else off except the TV. I've heard of Netflix on TV's slowing down while PC's and other media devices are on. See if that helps.

Had a problem with Netflix on another smart TV

Never more than 0.5Mbps, even though the TV said it was on 38 network. Netflix confirmed the app wasn't working. Bought an LG Webos instead and works good, no buffering Netflix says 38 Mbps and so does the TV network settings. Try uninstalling the app then reinstall. As the TV has HDR I'll be sticking with that.

I have 2 LG's from 2016 range. Both work well with Netflix HDR contents no issues.

one is using LAN while the other is WIFI

I pretty much only use the LG inbuilt apps for NowTV, you can get everything else on a Fire stick and it's so much nicer

Have you tried running the TV wired into your router, rather than over wi-fi?
