As somebody else mentioned, the low hanging fruit for them is long gone.

So as before, I will review, file and ignore all correspondence until a Judge tells me to pay (or an SD)!, but note to myself, I am expecting this batch of letters to be the latest campaign salvo and have my flak jacket on and filing cabinet open ready for it :-)
I hope they don't bring out the 'look who we took to court' weapon again. There was some insolvency case quoted early on in this where the list of creditors was Fel and I think they surrounded their claims with 'see what we did there!?!?!?' vernacular.

One thing I do wonder is if these claims have gone to new people or those who ignored TFL, Felicitas etc., Not sure who the claimant at the top of tree is this time, is it still Felicitas?

Letter head shows TRETHOWANS - Part of Lawfront
Sub Title = OUR CLIENT: WEST 28TH STREET LIMITED

So as suggested in previous posts, looks like West 28th are using a bona fide solicitor practice to scare people into a knee jerk reaction and squeeze more cash out of them. So W28 are shaking the tree once more and Trethowans have accepted a commission without doing any due diligence. Shame on them. You wonder how the Solicitors Regulatory Body would view this?

Got to ask the question, but would a firm like Trethowans really be that naïve ?

I'm sure that West 28th haven't paid them the sums of money needed to genuinely research original IoM trusts, trust law, multiple alleged assignments, lack of paperwork, endless demands and threats.........but surely they wouldn't be foolish enough to randomly send letters to people without any understanding of what they're doing ?

Especially the CCA 1974 claim, that one in particular could be very troublesome for West 28th.

The only way that Trethowans sent those letters out is because they didn’t do the appropriate amount of due diligence, because if they had done any it’s obvious that it doesn’t add up.

heck the CCA is very clear that loans from employers aren’t covered AND the email address is EBT (Employee Beneficiary Trust).

I think someone saw a large amount of easy money, has utterly screwed up and hasn’t realized yet

Oh Yes !... I remember that one, the Fel letters were very convincing until one looked at the case itself and it was a general insolvency case, so the guy brought out all the dead for it to clear all his perceived debts, real or not !

Very seriously which is why I suggested reporting this yesterday - 10 or 20 people making complaints would result in someone at the SRA rapidly having an awkward conversation with the managing partner at Trethowans

                  I would tend to agree.

One thing I will say, is that if you read the cover letter from Trehowans, it's quite careful in it's wording. It's more or less saying "this is for advice".......I wonder if that allows Trethowans to skirt any responsibility here, as they're not actually asking anybody to do anything or making any claim about anything.

My guess is W28 are hoping that by using a solicitor to send that letter (also note that only the cover letter is on Trethowns paper, all of the rest has a W28 footer), in the hope it will scare people.

Also, why would any law firm only provide an email address for contact ? I've had my fair share of solicitor letters over the years, and I can't recall one of them more or less stating that you should email an anonymous address, instead of the name of a solicitor that's hounding me.......odd.

I shudder to think that there may be individuals who have recieved this package through their letterbox over the weekend and have not linked in with forums like this and are suffering in isolation and resort to drastic measures such as taking their own life. People have done so for less.

I think dispicable doesn't go nearly far enough to describe this 'company'.

Dan Neidle has said that he’d love to see one of these letters.

He is the soul of discretion so if you are happy to you can contact him here (and mention you’ve come via CUK to give him context).
