Hi Ive submitted the DO3 form this evening via email but didn't receive any form of email acknowledgement from HMRC.

Have others here who have submitted the form had the same experience of no receipt / confo?

I'm just keen to check with he deadline being tomorrow?

I send a letter via email and had no response. Best to send a copy via recorded delivery. You may be waiting up to 3 months for a reply from the CLSO.

Who and how will the panel of contractors be decided upon.

The initial panel will comprise those who have been active in the forum and as such have shown that they care about the situation and result and have something to offer in terms of opinion, knowledge or passion.

They will be chosen by me and be asked to serve for a period of probably 12 months to begin with.

There is no set number although for logistical reasons my aim is to limit this to perhaps 6 to 8.

If NUMBERS are achieved, then some form of vote or appointment by popular acclaim might be attempted. For now though pace is essential and momentum has to be maintained and a beneficial dictatorship is the model.

If you would like to be considered for a position please let me know. It's unpaid, no expenses and perhaps a couple of hours a month via conference call or some form of video link.

The ONLY criteria is that you are a member of BIG GROUP.

Thanks Graham for answering all my point's, there's no doubt I will be joining, just haven't got round to it yet, but I sure will...it is a no brainer for anyone what ever your liability is.

I will be paying the APN probably a day before the deadline, but my point in all of this was merely to gage what would happen if BG group did gain that momentum very quickly and how this would be managed/controlled.

Yes, quite a few seem skeptical which I completely understand based on:

1. They may have fallen for paying high fees for bad advice in the past
2. They don't feel they will get anything from it
3. They don't understand its intentions

Personally:

1. The advice I have received so far has been great and hasn't cost a fortune
2. So far it has been worth every penny and it still very much at the early stages
3. There is plenty of literature out there now which makes that clear. Including this forum, the BG website and the uploaded seminar

All we can do is hope that more and more BG members come back here with positive responses and help convince others to join.

Agreed. Numbers are key! BG is IPSE for tax - see it as a contractor union.

I've been very impressed with everything BG are planning plus all the sensible advice Webberg has disseminated on these forums.

After digesting the whole business for a couple of months it seemed obvious that a joined up approach was missing. BG fills this gap.

BG membership is priced similarly to IPSE per annum - not far from the cost of liability insurance! I hope that puts the fees into perspective.

A tax advisor quoted me 300/hour to review my situation....

Just submitted my application to join the Big Group

There has to be some (I couldn't put a number on it) that were PCG (in those days) members, who freaked at IR35 and went into a scheme and then went back to PCG / IPSE membership.

That is exactly my case as I first went into contracting.
