Tales of El Dorado here - pimps in 3rd world countries lies through their teeth saying how much money they will make, if they were getting better commission from sending people to Iraq then you can be sure they'd do it.

I don't believe it is just tales. Numbers are increasing, and they are not going back.
If the UK wasn't an easy touch, you'd think at least those homeless Poles would go back to their home in Poland.

Well, I think its impossible to earn a lot of money in this country on low paid (national minimum) jobs, even though I'd agree that IF living costs are cut by sponging on the state resources, then it might be possible to earn some cash, perhaps that's what they are doing. Suppose this would be the only logical way to explain situation with increasing numbers.

Cash in hand jobs mostly. The number of adverts you see from polish cleaners, plumbers etc is huge - even saw one from a blacksmith.

So basically, no tax to pay and living costs subsidised by the state or living in the car rough, suppose in this arrangement it can actually be pretty profitable for them.

The UK was the only country stupid enough to let in anyone who wanted to come, no questions asked.

Exactly. And still cheaper than the locals. No wonder unemployment is up and fat cat business 'leaders' are demanding more of them.

Don't think so...I was hammered in Bucharest with a quite interesting "visa interview" in order to be able to have on my passport that stamp which said "business visa" , "no right to public funds" and "any form of work must be authorized". Got 10 grands in the bank and property in the home country and the officer carried on asking about my future spendings in the next year...
Now the Home Office has my passport and I'm waiting for another stamp of the same category...

                      It's only fair...
                      The rest is silence...
