I believe the answer is to:

      - cancel all renewable subsidies and feed-in tariffs
      - stop wind power development
      - reopen closed and don't shut any more coal fired power stations
      - repeal the 2008 Climate Change Act
      - urgently asses shale gas potential
      - urgently build gas generation capacity
      - base the energy strategy on gas, nuclear and coal

      Should be sorted...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Can you orchestrate all that from Darmstadt?

I thought Miliband was an idiot.

            Now I'm sure of it.

Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

what about the news that the ROF pumps at Huntspill (3 billion litres a year)
which, even assuming 24 hour a day operation is less than 10,000 tonnes of water a day. The EA are pumping 7,000,000 tonnes a day. So that single closed station would have contributed less than 0.2% of the effort required. Looks like pure misdirection, as usual.

Well done for helping the sandbags, but the IPCC and the met office predicted warmer , drier winters. They both agree that the planets has not warmed for 17 years
erm, you could try actually reading the projections

Annual precipitation is very likely to increase in most of northern Europe and decrease in most of the Mediterranean area. In central Europe, precipitation is likely to increase in winter but decrease in summer. Extremes of daily precipitation are very likely to increase in northern Europe. The annual number of precipitation days is very likely to decrease in the Mediterranean area. The risk of summer drought is likely to increase in central Europe and in the Mediterranean area.
11.3 Europe and the Mediterranean - AR4 WGI Chapter 11: Regional Climate Projections

And the Met Office has three papers on the 'pause'. The recent pause in warming - Met Office

The 'controversy' only exists in the sections of the media, generally conservative-leaning who like to appear 'balanced', Virtually all climate scientists, virtually every published study and 100% of scientific associations all agree with the IPCC position that warming is unequivocal and most of it is anthropogenic. Denial is looking increasingly silly

Going back to the subject of the thread, Milliband claimed that the recent extreme weather we have been experiencing has been caused by climate change.
Now if he is right, then we would have expected global temperatures to have risen over the past 20 years. They haven't.

Climate change if it is at all influenced by man will be a slow process that will only start to have an effect over decades. The fact of a SUDDEN few weeks of heavy rain cannot be explained by such a process.

Milliband is, as expected, talking crap.

That would be 1994 right? NASA disagrees with you...
