Or, more seriously, the work I do is stressful, difficult and not that interesting (like many people I have worked with) - I do it purely for the money.Comment

Not entirely true, I am sure there are some managers that fit this profile, but I have worked there for 4.5 years on 2 contracts and was very happy there.Originally posted by sbakoola View PostManagers have a free license to be really nasty to staff there and no-one bats an eye lid. Complaining about managers there gets you no-where.
I was lucky with the team I worked with an we still meet up for drinks a couple of times a year even though the team is all over the place now.Last edited by Scrag Meister; 30 January 2014, 08:09.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

So you don't feel that you're a 'member of the JPMorgan family'? (as their corporate cackspokesperson calls it)Originally posted by MyUserName View PostEnter the world of investment banking, brother!

Being a "member of the JPMorgan family" must be a massive IR35 flag... Better to be the guy they call "Uncle" just because he's shagging your mum.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostSo you don't feel that you're a 'member of the JPMorgan family'? To be fair I don't work there but I would if it a gig popped up there and I was looking provided they paid enough. I am happy to be a member of their family for as long as they pay me an extortionate amount.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostSo you don't feel that you're a 'member of the JPMorgan family'? Actually IB's are a bunch of pussies when it comes to insulting staff compared to the newspaper industry. I was truly shocked at some of the behaviour including fisticuffs. Don't think it would be possible to be shocked anymore...Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostBut what keeps you going back when there are lots of other interesting industries where people generally don't treat each other like tulip? Money? Or just the CV inertia thing, where everyone assumes you want to work in a sector because you've done so much of it before?
Shame for this man though, he obviously didn't see a better way out.

Unlikely. Then used to have 10y and 3y rukle. then 2y rule. then 1y rule. They seem to be trying to get rid of all contractors.Originally posted by MyUserName View PostTo be fair I don't work there but I would if it a gig popped up there and I was looking provided they paid enough.
