The only good one was Gladiators until it was revealed half of the blokes were on steroids.....Originally posted by No2politics View PostI remember when Saturday TV used to be good. Catch phrase. I hate the way that they run in seasons. Xfactor and z listers dancing ends at about the same time as some other z listers spend a few days in a forest near a hotel in Australia. Then its onto more z listers sliding about on ice for a bit and then more nutters on Britains got no talent.
If you want to watch dancing/ice skating/singing on telly - then why not watch professionals do it. People who are actually good at it.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
I preferred version 1!Comment

This is interesting - whilst my family and the inlaws will simply not watch x, voice, jungle etc etc etc for some reason Strictly is consdidered not just acceptable - but more than acceptable almost high brow.
I guess it is because if has ballroom dancing in which is 'posh' and 'highbrow' as oppsed to the rest which do not.
Although for me I am desperatly trying to make an excuse up so i can leave the in laws early on xmas day so i can avoid the fookin strictly xmas special...
I might just sneak offComment

Strictly posh?!!!
A load of Eastern Europeans, Australians and people from working class parts of the North and ballroom dancing is posh?"You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

well that's my view too but it is the materialOriginally posted by SueEllen View PostStrictly posh?!!!

ballroom dancing = posh
rapping with your arse hanging out of your jeans = not posh!
I think my in laws are terribly middle class!Comment

Funny thing is they always have to work on some of them on the X Factor to make them seem less middle class and more urban. For example one of the guys from JLS went and brought a farm which is a middle class aspiration.Originally posted by original PM View Postwell that's my view too but it is the material

Can't believe no-one has mentioned the Peter Kay piss-take, this was absolute genius and in a strange parody of the whole genre, the single released sold huge numbers !!
Just perfect, judges, family illness, the groups, lionel blair, all the cliches, even Cat Deeley losing it was fantastic.Comment

Likewise my Ma - sneers (quite properly IMHO) at all except bleedin strictly. I didn't realise there was a bastard xmas special. Am going to Ma's as my request we alternate Christmas Day with my daughter between Ex and me has been (surprise!) denied.Originally posted by original PM View PostThis is interesting - whilst my family and the inlaws will simply not watch x, voice, jungle etc etc etc for some reason Strictly is consdidered not just acceptable - but more than acceptable almost high brow.

To the OP - no idea of the appeal of this tulipe. My festive viewing started last night with the film of Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy.
EDit - the Peter Kay thing was genius.Comment
