Is is worth upgrading from XP to Window 7?

    However he does have a point if the OP is a contractor who needs some level of compatibility with client corps.

    That's one of the reasons why I don't use linux or a Mac - No client I've ever been at in the last 20 years has required me to use them, it's nearly all been MS/Windows/Office/PC.

    Although there was dear old VMS in a gig in Germany, and OS2 when I worked in Scotland. That's foreigners for you.

    Hang on, was OS2 ever run on a Mac? I can't remember what the hardware was.

    What is there which is Linux-only? I know lots of open-source stuff is more Linux-oriented, but anything popular ends up having to work on Windows.
