Well marriage is about 3 rings - engagement ring, wedding ring & suffering. Or is it the process of finding out what sort of man your wife would have preferred?

Though my 2nd marriage is really going quite well. She only hates me a little bit after 2.5 years - good going I think.

There is every reason to get married - as long as you don't get divorced. You never really know someone until you divorce them.

I think it is good for children. And if your wife takes it as a show of commitment and responds positively then that is a good reason.

Those are reasons not to get involved with someone at all. Nowt to do with marriage.
