Some of the Carry On actors/actresses, e.g. Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Hattie Jacques [sp?], Peter Butterworth (who I always thought was one of the funniest of them - He played Mr Fiddler, the Camp Site owner, in Carry on Camping), Sid James. But they all seemed to have popped off quite young.

And the Steptoe and Son guys, Wilfred Brambell and Harry H Corbett.

Oh and Jimmy Edwards. He used to drink champagne, starting at breakfast and polishing off several bottles a day, so it's not too surprising he wasn't around longer.

With that choice, I guess I'm showing my age a bit.

AFIAK he preferred adult young men. (He was prosecuted for cottaging in the early '60s, and I imagine if the object of his attention had been a young boy, that would have been mentioned in court.)
