Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
Got the colour of mine wrong and can't tell me the tyre size...
We've found your vehicle but unfortunately we don't have any details of your tyres.
This may be because your vehicle is:
A commercial vehicle (e.g. a truck or a taxi)
A motorbike (please use the Motorbike Search on the home page)
First registered prior to 1983
An import
Just one we don't know about!
If this is the case, please use our Tyre Size Search tool:
Well, I saw a Jag XJS with that number plate. Might have just been for a photoshoot though.
I thought it was one of those never issued, like ELV1S. Incidently, EN regs were issued in Bury, a town who's main claim to fame is being next to Bolton on the map.
Bolton issued regs are BN and WH. That never comes up in Trivial Pursuits.....
Tried it on one of mine. Got the make and colour right, but the original tires are wrong. Maybe they did on the smaller model...
We have found 2 different tyre configurations that match your vehicle.
The manufacturer's original tyre configuration is:
Front: 235/50R16 Z 93
Search Size
Rear: 235/50R16 Z 93
Search Size
There are also the following alternative tyre configurations that may have
been fitted as an upgrade option by the manufacturer or the dealer:
Front: 235/45R17 Z 93
Search Size
Rear: 265/40R17 Z 93

Yeah, I thought it maybe was just for the photoshoot. I used to do stuff with cars and motorbikes for television years ago, an ancient plan B that has long since been sold.
Oh they got this one spot on, I had to go out just to check, it's fun...

Entered the details for the smaller model and it gives the correct results for the bigger engine.
Hmm, someone's made a boo boo there.

PEN1S doesnt exist - I thought someone here would have that.....
It used to. My colleagues and I used to see it in the early 1990s on Wood Lane, London W12.
Hmm.
Registration: <the wife's car that got sold to a scrap dealer on Thursday>
Make: JAGUAR
Model: XJ SALS (4 DOOR SALOON)
Colour: GREEN
Size Details: Width - 225 Profile - 55 Wheel Size - 16 Speed - Z Load - 95
Wrong. The manual said 225/60 R16, not 225/55 Z16.
Registration: OOH11
Make: VOLKSWAGEN
Model: TOUAREG (ESTATE)
Colour: BLACK
That used to be on either a Ferrari, Lamborghini or similar and I used to see it on the A40 in the early mornings flying into the City. Each of the '1's had a bit cut out near the bottom so the registration read: OOH!!
