Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

    C.S. Lewis

We atheists haven't had our fair share of the stoning, burning at stake and beheading fun in my view. When is it going to be our turn?

You'll have to organise yourselves into a belief based movement first...

You did pretty well under Stalin and then in China and North Korea, mutatis mutandis.

Is there a need to advertise the fact that you are an "atheist" ?

                A did you know...

Excavations show that during the Roman Empire there was a substantial minority of Roman and Neapolitan atheists who were criticising the worshiping the gods and the waste of money on sacrifices linked to the corruption of power.

Socrates was charged with inventing new gods, but in the trial he was actually accused of not believing in any gods at all.

OK, I'll take "+1" as my symbol.

A religious believer disbelieves in the existence of all of the thousands of gods that man has invented, except for one.

I simply disbelieve in one more god than he disbelieves in.
