What is a good 'symbol' for an atheist to wear?

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.' -
I agree, but the point I was trying to make was shouldn't we try and help kids think for themselves. If they saw their teachers, doctors and dare I say favourite celebs wearing an athiest symbol, would it at least make them ask why?Originally posted by Jeebo72 View PostJust knowing that "we" are right and they are all wrong is enough ...
Of course I am not proposing that atheism should be viewed as another religion.Comment

I’m a little uncomfortable with symbols involving a raised right arm.Originally posted by doodab View PostAnd what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

Yes it would, and that's why I don't want to wear a symbol. The last thing I need is some goddist asking me about atheism and why I haven't opened my heart to his god.Originally posted by singhr View Postwould it at least make them ask why?And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? wear a T-Shirt with "I'm an aetheist" with picture of a fat pig/cow to
pi55 off the muslims/jews/hindus/sikhs/....etcComment

But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostYes it would, and that's why I don't want to wear a symbol. No, but it can get a bit boring listening to some born again Christian who wants to convert me.Originally posted by Churchill View PostBut it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
Maybe a t-shirt with the text ‘believers AND atheists, please change the subject’ would be appropriate. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

Or perhaps a polite "I'm not interested."?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostNo, but it can get a bit boring listening to some born again Christian who wants to convert me.

Or just avoid quasi-political texts on t-shirts all together. It's not 1985 and Wham split up years ago.Originally posted by Churchill View PostOr perhaps a polite "I'm not interested."?And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment
