What I object to is people who think both/all the big parties are awful, and then they go and vote for one of them. It is rewarding bad behaviour and makes no sense to me at all.
And the "I'd vote for X but that would be a wasted vote" mentality is worse than a wasted opportunity in that it negates the vote of someone who may well have voted for the same minor party / independent. Hence, if you don't want to vote for any of them, then just don't turn up.
Voting for someone you don't want is an illogicality made popular by big party spindoctoring.
Tactical voting by people who want neither big party does not work: it just guarantees either red or blue get in.
