    Interesting link JB , my attention was caught by ...

    The practice is alleged to have developed unofficially because the commission's generous employment terms make it all but impossible to dismiss staff. In the past, employees who have had run-ins with the commission, or simply underperformed, have generally had to be persuaded to leave by offers of expensive early retirement packages.

    Now then.

    Where do I get me application form for the EC Commision ?

      Don't know how easy it is to get a job there AJP.

      Did know one guy years ago who managed to get into one of their IT dept's, but then (as might be expected) he had a few friends he'd made there while on various reccies for HM Gov't. He was well pleased I'll tell you...

      "PS anybody knows who designed the computer system in question ?"

      Believe it's mainly SAP/IBM providing their typical customised off the shelf stuff.
