Under normal circumstances out of vtec it's as fast as a 2.0 litre hot hatch, it will also hapily cruise all day at 90 plus. But if you feel the need you drop a gear, put your foot down and it goes mental and makes a great noise. It's not a a car for people who don't like changing gear to go fast, but then those people should buy an automatic / a luxury barge. Sports cars always beg to be driven.

So in summary the s is a quick car with the option to go mental
Again, similar to the diesel comment, the automatic is no comparison also. There`s nothing wrong with something in between (ie, the torque of a diesel but a great sounding petrol engine, the requirement not to have to constantly have to change gear but having the option to when required and of course not an automatic.

Oh, I definately agree with the runflat commetn however. Not only do they help to make a harsh ride in the non-M Z4, they also make the car tramline like I dunno what. But those can be changed to non-runflats providing the owner keeps a puncture kit in the car.

I seriously dunno why BMW used runflats on the Z4, maybe to make the M option more attractive.

Yes, I believe they have dropped them now.

You would only have to change gear a lot if on a windy country road, even then only between two gears, which IMHO is the fun of driving. I can't think of many situations where I was doing 50mph and all of a sudden wanted to hit 80 quickly without changing gears.

So I guess the question is, do you want a grand tourer or a sports car?

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

The S2000 imo was a hard ride.

I assume BMW went for run flats to keep the weight down (and they had no space for a spare) as per Honda, Audi.

Either way a costly addition ! - if you had a puncture how did you know ? and
what did you do i.e speed limitations, change etc.

I didn't find the Honda a hard ride and I was running another car with hydrogas suspension.

I don't think it was weight, manufacturers can save a lot of money by making less alloys, having said that wheels are big these days and often larger at the back if RWD
