I'm only looking at coastal places just north of the Tyne.

      For what?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Yes, is there anywhere on that coast that is less awful than Swindon?

So you are looking at Castles now?

It's F'ing cold up there, even compared to the North West.

It's cheap but would take forever to get anywhere

Most of it's less awful than Swindon but there are parts of Hartlepool and Middlesbrough I'd avoid.

Westoe's a nice enough place, but unfortunately David Milibastard is the MP there. Nice undeveloped coastline around there.

Then don't go to Saltburn-by-the-Sea. I have friends there and it is nice.

Anyone here live on the coast near Cullercoats, Whitley Bay or nearby coastal towns/villages?

Nice place to live, or stinking horrible northern dumps?
Whitley Bay is ok in places but avoid the area around the Sea Front, it's a stag/hen warzone all year round. Cullercoats is better but basically just an extension of Whitley Bay. Much more pleasant options are Tynemouth and Monkseaton (which is basically the leafy bit of WB). North Shields town centre is a hole, but there's some nice accomodation down by the Quay and on the headland....depends if you like the smell of rotten fish though.

All of it is less awful than Swindon...

Tynemouth is pretty posh, with some very expensive properties.

Along the Quayside in "toon" there's some £1million apartments.

                      Depends on what you need.
