      oh excellent bible quotes time.

      My favourite:

      Ezekiel 23:20
There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.
I presume the bible is considered safe for work?

I read the bible following a course called "Bible study for Atheists".

        I really enjoyed it.

Tis a silly book, with some profound and enlightened statements, and some bits where lots of innocent children get killed.

New Testament or Gospels if you prefer. (although the new testament starts at Matthew)
So you're up to the feeding of the four thousand then?
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Amazingly she still believes strongly in the faith!
Now Obama has stopped the waterboarding the CIA are probably going to hire the order of Our Lady of the Missions for psychological torture methods. Some truly were Nazis, on the other hand many of the nuns were posted in Africa and would come back with amazing stories. Looking back I see the bitter nuns were the ones that were probably told to look after the school and the ones on the missions were all pretty OK.

The school is now owned by the national trust.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holmwood_House and I would quite happily send my kids to the new school as it ranks as the best primary in Scotland.

I suggest your start with the OT - gives you a much better idea of what your God is like. He's forever smiting and threatening people. Interesting that 5 of the 10 commandments are all about himself - he's a very jealous God isn't he?

I have read the full bible before including NT. The OT can be quite boring : and parts are irrelevant as the old law is gone : the new law is in.

The Bible is a fascinating literary/semi historical/mythological/folk tale series of documents. Being a human work it has some wisdom, some truths, some lies and some total bollux.
Personally I feel it is now relevant only in a sociological/historical sense to understand human mythomania.
