Is this just a load of scaremongering bull tuplip or is there a shred of truth in it.
I mean how does Wi-Fi compare to AM/FM radio waves in terms of them being able to mutate your DNA and give you cancer ?
I've been using Wi-Fi with my new laptop for the last 4 months in the home but I've always slept with my BT Hub router ON in the bedroom for the past 2 years and even though I never used Wi-Fi for the majority of this time it does emit a signal !!!
Your valued opinions are most welcome !
They say having sex gives Sexual Transmitted Diseases such as AIDS.
They say listening to music on your IPOD will make you dillusional and deaf.
They say playing with oneself will make you go blind.
They say if you eat nuts you will develop nut allergies (ok, I made this one up).
The point I think I am making is that if you worry too much about what's is being said by the so called "experts", you will stop living. There have been some cases of health issues caused by Wireless, but the risk is too small to worry too much about. I'd be surprised if you walked down a street that did not emit a wireless signal beyond one's boundaries. If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment

in that documentary about it last year, the main "expert" they featured owns a business selling expensive "wi-fi reflective paint" to credulous paranoids, which says it all really.

In independent studies, microwaves, underground/overground power cables in close proximity have been linked to depression, suicide and cancer. You have to make your own choices on how much you are willing to expose yourself to. Personally, I think our population is too high anyway, so let everybody overuse mobile phones, wi-fi etc if they wish.

I'm often in close proximity to members of the Labour Cabinet, so I must be pretty safe then.Originally posted by minestrone View PostLet me fix that for you.

At the school where my son goes they have installed Wi-Fi and now a group of parents have formed an action group to petition for it to be removed due to the health risks (as they believe) to the kids.
Numerous leaflets being handed out pointing back to some Panorama programme where this (the WiFi issue) was apparently highlighted and showed the radiation was comparable to that from a phone mast.Comment

So many people are in denial over the hazards, and the sad thing is that our kids are the innocent victims who will suffer cancer in early adulthood due to this. Parents who allow mobile phones for their kids are guilty of gross negligence IMO.

I can partly sympathise with the parents on this one (despite my earlier comments). Kinds don't have the same immunity / resistance towards a lot of things. Should Wifi be banned altogether? probably not... but the implimentation should be scaled back or alternatives such as homeplugs should be considered.Originally posted by techno View PostAt the school where my son goes they have installed Wi-Fi and now a group of parents have formed an action group to petition for it to be removed due to the health risks (as they believe) to the kids.

If I could only afford a house right under a pylon and near a mobile transmitter I would conclude that I had failed in life which in turn would make me depressed.Originally posted by Cyberman View PostIn independent studies, microwaves, underground/overground power cables in close proximity have been linked to depression, suicide and cancer.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment
