Scientists sign petition denying man-made global warming

Global Warming is a creation of government used as an idea used to generate further uncertainly within the general uneducated population so that offices are able to increase taxation without taking on penalty of any sort.

You are a fool.Originally posted by dang65 View Post30,000 people have filled in a form and sent it in, and all it says is that human activity isn't causing climate change??
This is like if scientists had had a load of endless debates about whether AIDS was "caused by homosexuals". It's irrelevent. AIDS kills millions every year, regardless of who or what "caused" it.
Climate change is happening, as a lot of the same scientists agree. In fact, one would have to be insane to deny it. But rather than get on with looking for ways to prepare for the impact and avoid chaos and mass death, they're bickering over whether it's caused by human activity or not. What kind of "scientists" are these?
The scientists job is to understand what is going on, it's someone elses job to decide what to do about it. The day we have scientists telling us how to run the country we will be in deep.
The day we have politicians telling us how the science works we will be in deep, oops too late.

Hmm. What we've got here is a very small number of "scientists" (unspecified backgrounds or qualifications) who have decided to bicker about what is causing climate change.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostYou are a fool.

I'm not saying that scientists should decide what to do about "what is going on", but that they should channel their energy into using science to find solutions to the problems we are going to face very shortly (or already are).
There are a lot of scientists already doing this of course. The other ones really need to stop pissing about like schoolkids, confusing ignorant people and get involved too.Comment

So nobody should think for themselves, or express any independent opinion, but should instead just follow the herd?Originally posted by dang65 View PostThe other ones really need to stop pissing about like schoolkids, confusing ignorant people and get involved too. Will work inside IR35. What a damning description of the proletariat present within this country!Originally posted by VectraMan View PostSo nobody should think for themselves, or express any independent opinion, but should instead just follow the herd?Comment

To what end though? What is their rational and scientific goal in creating a petition which is totally irrelevent. I mean, whether human activity is contributing to climate change or is completely unrelated to it is really of no importance whatsoever at this stage. There are rather more important things to concentrate on right now.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostSo nobody should think for themselves, or express any independent opinion, but should instead just follow the herd?Comment

Hear hear! I shall start a "what I had for lunch thread" so we can discuss them.Originally posted by dang65 View PostThere are rather more important things to concentrate on right now.Comment
