I'm no vegetarian, but there's a bit of a difference here. It's like going out and culling cats to make fur knickers for the wife. Not something a nation would sit back and allow. Especially with the methods those scumbag canadians are continuing to use.

So while not a large percentage of Canadians will support the cull, they're still associated with it. Similar to how the French are labelled a nation of horse and snail eaters.

What particular form of animal cruelty are the Brits labelled with?
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

What is cruel about blunt trauma to the head? It is instant and is the same method used in slaughterhouses all over the world. Slightly more refined with a retained bolt gun, but you just cant get those out on the ice.

I'll stick to fox hunting, hare coursing and Badger baiting thanks.
Too cold and too much hard work battering baby seals.

I wonder if there would be so big an outcry if the seal pups were black?

It is barbaric...how many times are the seals not killed ny the first hit? It is a medieval practice and should be banned. If the seals are to be culled, then a more humane method needs to be found.

I always find it confusing what the animal loving public deems cruel? Battery reared chickens whose bones collapse under their own high fat diet for the provision of ever cheaper meat. The slaughter of Pigs, where a pig has higher inteligence than a pet dog.

I have a friend who became veggie after seeing a despatches documentry on the food chain in this country. I have a lot of respect for people willing to make life changes in order not to contribute to something they can't abide. Someone who enjoys chewing on a McDonalds finding seal murder distasteful reeks of hypocricy.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Whoa! there. I lived in Canada for 30 years and in no way do I associate myself with that cull. Just the way I don't associate all ya brits with that nasty fox hunting y'all do over here.

This is a population control cull. the same way deer, bear, fish etc.. populations are controlled. Something to do with the seals eating all the fish if the population gets too big. Haven't seen the data, but that's what they say.

+ the money they make off the seal fur.

er! how do I get in on the action?
