The biggest difference is this lot can, and will be, out next election.
Are we allowed to read Mein Kampf?

You can also use 'Causus', which I prefer, as it is what one is actually saying.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

By all means. I have. What a crock of tulipe - the ramblings of a psychological feck-up.
        Hard Brexit now!

Well, the New Lie has proffered up the concept of canceling elections, several times now in fact.

1st point. I have to diagree. Timeline:

30/01/1933 Hitler appointed Chancellor of a minority government in coalition with German National People's Party
27/02/1933 Reichstag Fire - blamed on Communists
28/02/1933 Law for the Protection of People and State passed, suspending civil liberties
3/03/1933 New elections hands Nazi-led coalition a slim majority
23/03/1933 Enabling Act passed, handing Hitler legislative powers and ability to deviate from Constitution
14/07/1933 All other political parties banned

              (summarised from Wikipedia as always)

So yes, Hitler was kind of democratically elected but he then immediately destroyed democracy. This is what fascists do. They use democracy to get power and then smash it. So I'd say they are mutually contradictory.

2nd point - very intersting thought. It can be argued that the 1930s fascist parties were a vehicle for the state, the political elite, and also industrialists and bankers to preserve the status quo against a perceived threat to their interests ('Jewish' Bolshevism). Does that apply to today? I'm not sure one way or the other. It feels like we're walking into more authoritarian times (and the creation of the internal enemy rings true) but believe it or not, I use the term fascist carefully and sparingly, and I'm not sure that's where we're heading.

Or maybe Causus Dei (or Casus Dei), Old Greg admires such self-aggrandisement

Well, I like to persevere when I'm meant to be working. So if you can be bothered go to CD's profile, pick up his email address, google it, look at the cached page, you'll find a cricket league site, and that email has a name, address and phone number (not the name I offered up earlier, and I'm now even more confused). How deep does the conspiracy run?
