        Excellent City, all of the museums and shops quoted are good. Plenty of good restaurants too The Town Hall is well worth a visit (I kid you not) great architecture, three lovely spiral staircases (as you go up them, feel under the hand rail, that is where they concealed the gas pipes for the original gas lighting_. Murals by Ford Madox Brown in the grand hall, plus a huge organ (pandering a bit to the perves there) lots of very grand rooms.

        Salford Quays is good too (I know that is not Manchester City but only a short tram ride away). The Arch in China Town, the Manchester wheel was back but may have gone again.
