Well, German motorways are likely to be far better than the pothole ridden ones we have here.

I have fond memories of driving around Frankfurt one Sunday morning. At 160kph I was the slowest thing on there. Plenty of curves to keep sadkingbilly less sad. The A96 to Munich isn't entirely straight either.

                  curves are NOT corners.
                  cars are transport, not fun.
                  motorways/freeways/autobahns/routes national are BORING!

Sadly now true. Once upon a time they were both.

Congestion, endless roadworks and various other restrictions - including cost - have transferred the pleasurable experience of 'going for a run in the car' to something now to be avoided. I don't even bother to go out in the car at peak times.

While once it was great to go 'out for a run' on a Sunday afternoon to the countryside, stop off for lunch, a walk and admire the scenery it's now too tedious and expensive to bother.

And the car App (which is handy for some things) has decided to start to 'rate my driving'. It has allocated me a score of 93% apparently penalising me because I have the audacity to drive during the hours of darkness - that can only get worse as the clocks get changed (for no good reason).

Of course this score needs to be treated in the same way as one's 'credit rating' - irrelevant twaddle - but now I have the chance of a new challenge to see what minimum score I can attain.

Well, I get your point. I had much more fun in a Ferrari (as a passenger) driving across the Jura mountains than driving from Munich in it. Having driven last year on the American freeways, I'd say they're the least boring of the rapid transit routes.
