    That's one of the annoying thing about phrases, if people say them often enough I catch myself starting to use them!

    For example, "if I'm honest .." (followed by some possibly unwelcome opinion)

    My lads are always saying 'I'm not gonna lie' before most things.

    Keep telling them it's like I'm not racist but... and the next sentence is usually racist so I assume the are going to tell a lie. Doesn't stop them.
