Where to get IT contractor advice - pros and cons of agencies?

    Hi all,

I've been an IT contractor for just over 12 months. I've been with only one agency through which all my engagements have been arranged. There are still some aspects of contracting I want to understand more about, like the pros and cons of going through an agency vs. going alone. And how to go about doing this yourself e.g. creating your own contracts. Does anyone have experience/advice on this they can please share?

Also, more generally, are there any dedicated, IT contractor advice providers I can go to with questions about contracting? Is this something Ipse provides, for example?

    Thanks

One usually finds that organisations that contain the word "Professional" in their title aren't.

                  Just saying!
