You also have to ask "better at what?".

IT involves alot of different skills.

I think cojak summed it up - Its just a pity that people bring gender into it.

When it comes to CUK mods, there is no gender difference. All are vindictive and nasty.
Yes, is it's a very stupid question like the memo is

For you, It's stupid because I'm generalizing and depending on the skills!!! Hilarious!!!

No, It's stupid because women are good as men...or better.

How do you include for that?
This is a really key point. Why would anyone want to encourage people into an industry they felt so strongly averse to? What is the point of trying to fill quotas if it makes people miserable?

            GCSE Computer Science means SFA.

When I've asked women in IT who aren't academics what degree they have including Indian women the majority have a Maths degree.

Others like men come from all sorts of backgrounds. Though I've not met a female British engineering graduate working in IT. The only one I've met was French...

I haven't missed the point - you seem to forget that I'm female.

I haven't stated my background but like the poster's daughter I was put of IT as a teenager. It took until my twenties until I was convinced by other women who worked in the industry - none of whom had Computer Science degrees - that it was an OK profession where you could earn decent money. I've since met other British women who were also put off as teenagers but now work in the industry. Part of the issue is some people especially men believe in IT for it's own sake not in how it can solve real world problems.

                      It isn't happening.

You seem paranoid that some woman, person not your age, ethnicity or a mixture of any of them will take a role you could have. Guess what - if they are found and are liked better they will get the role nothing you can do about it.
