    Speaking personally on Corbyn...

My personal position is that of a contractor, supporting an unwell wife and 3 children with Autism.

If Corbyn wins he wants to make all of the people who work for a company, employees of that company. Should this happen, I'll be caught by IR35 as will the vast majority of us I presume. I stand to lose around £30-40k a year. I cannot afford to do that, so I won't be voting for him.

However, what I'd really like to see is him take this further. Make us REAL employees instead, if we are caught by IR35, then we don't pay the employers NI, we get holiday and sick pay and we get benefits too.

Will this be the new way forward for us if he wins? Chasing benefits from our "employers" ?

Corbyn is not gong to be prime minister, even in the most optimistic poll the Tories are still the biggest party, therefore it's simply a case of whether the Tories have a huge landslide or a minority government to let them "hobble" through Brexit.

      I'm alright Jack

        Eh?

If you're an employee you won't pay employer's NI, and you will get holiday and sick pay etc. So you should vote for him.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

This is my concern also. Most of us will have a family and a mortgage and going back to permie land is not an option. Keeping this in mind is it better to vote Tory or Labour?

I know comrade wants to reverse privatisation but will he mess around with the self employed? Are we the "few" that he refers to?

Your choice is between the chaos of a hard Brexit under May and the nutty Tories or the chaos of a Corbyn style socialism.
Your best bet is frankly to look for opportunities abroad if you can.
            Hard Brexit now!

Convert your substantial cash reserves into a hard currency and then pay off your mortgage in one to two years' time.

And this is the problem isnt it? I am fed up of hearing May say "Will of the people", "Strong and stable", "No deal is better...blah blah" and whatever other nonsense she repeats without actually saying anything meaningful.

On the other hand is the the loony who wants to tax the crap out of anyone above minimum wage. It is like a choice between Evil and Incompetent.

To be fair i can handle the tax increase as most of us contractors can i assume. What will be far tougher is handling the loss of contracting as a way of life if that makes sense.
