          Most importantly - glad you are safe.

          I would put my money on the insurers sending it down to Nationwide Accident Repairs, the car being stuck on a jig & some new panels being ordered in & a lick of paint. I would fight this tooth & nail.

          The oil means nothing. It could be pipe or a totaled engine. Who knows until it is on a lift. I believe that will determine whether it is a write off or not, not bodywork.

          I did something similar to a similar vintage S-Class. Mercedes quoted 24k to fix, insurance invoiced 4.3k by Nationwide.
