Poles in IT frighten me, they are dirt cheap and frighteningly good. Even shipping them back to Poland doesn't help because of offshoring. There's so many bad Indians about you can safely tar them all with the same brush, but Poles are a real threat (apart from deseasex )

Agree about the Poles, and Eastern Europeans in general. They are well educated, motivated, and, for the moment, cheap.

Price is rising all the time.
They don't want to spend > 2 years somewhere as they then have to give 3 months notice.

The constantly revolving door is a problem and anyway all the big players are out in Poland now.

Exactly. As previously pointed out, high wages attracts intelligent people. The big firms in Poland will want to retain their talent.

At present they do not have a hells chance, as poaching is rife.

People moving on there are being offered up to 3x current salary.

Eastern Europeans or Indians for that matter are not a problem as their economies will catch up. In 10 years there won't be much of a differential.

The thing not to forget is in the beginning they jump on board Western European projects, as their countries develop this generates even more demand in their own countries. In the company I work in not only are Eastern Europeans working offshore, there is increasing revenue coming from those same countries.
              I'm alright Jack

If they are cheap it's not because they want, it's because they accept the salaries that are offered. If the pols leave you will get others better or worse to replace them equally cheap.

The Daily Express isn't a well regarded newspaper. You are much better of asking people you meet why they decided to come to the UK as you can get some funny replies.
