Default UK government is bluffing with cards everyone can see

I welcome a hard brexit. EU has more to lose than us. All the stuff we currently import from the EU will have to be produced here.

The article linked to by Sas is quite persuasive on this:

While the EU would suffer very badly in this eventuality, in terms of trade and security cooperation, the effect is simply not as severe for them as it would be for us. They would maintain their other trade deals and mutual recognition agreements. We would not. And anyway, only about 12% of their trade is with the UK, whereas nearly half of ours is with them.

So we work harder, and get better.

The UK has gone lazy and soft.

How much would scrapping all benefits except disability and OAPs save us?

Well at the moment it's UK companies who are moving into "headless chicken" mode on where to locate themselves, not European companies. Lets face it Mercedes Benz is not wondering whether it should move it's HQ to the UK. That will be a huge disadvantage, not helped by a pincer movement from Scotland.

Got us through some tough times.

Why should people get benefits when they can fix pot holes, sweep pavements, pick up litter etc
