Britain to get absolutely everything it wants from Brexit negotiations
Yeah management will always put a gloss on it.
Doubling of staff? Let's see what the new Jap masters decide in the light of events in the British economy, shall we?
After all we still need punishing for voting for Brexit as so we are so incapable of doing anything outside the capable nannying of the EU commission
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone
So where does the doubling of staff come into it then? Looks like investment to me.
I'm not too happy with the deal though as it's one of our best companies now in foreign ownership.
Mmm...
July 11: Theresa May says govt will block takeovers of key UK firms
July 18: Govt welcomes takeover of Arm, UK's most important tech company
Mike Hancock, Digital Minister (does that mean he's a Pokemon?) - The proposed investment of £24bn in ARM by SoftBank highlights Britain's capability to grow & build world-beating Tech companies...
“Investment” is a funny way of describing a takeover bid -- surely Hancock knows that the money goes to ARM’s shareholders?
“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”

Actually, I think ARM is a British success story and a very good one and it's a shame that it is now being sold to a foreign company. My point in the previous post shows that the new Tory government are not only ignorant but have already started lying, same old, same old...but you don't care though...

Every single point you make is derogatory about the UK.

“The average German penis is about 3.5 to 4 millimeters (0.13 to 0.15 inches) too narrow for the standard EN 600 condom,” said the magazine, proving once and for all that size really does matter.

Not derogatory about the UK. Derogatory about foreigners more than anything.
Not derogatory about the UK, rather derogatory about politicians.
Not derogatory about the UK, derogatory about you.
In order to be derogatory you first of all need a victim. In this case it is ARM who are the unwitting casualties of the british government. The british government represents the collective voice of British people which clearly you and your ilk despise. I do not think I have ever heard seen any of you wailing "miserablists" (as Andrew Neil calls you) ever say anything positive about Britain and its institutions, its history, its monarchy. To illustrate my point it can be argued that ARM are a product of Britain and its culture and economic policy but to you they have grown despite Britain and are now hapless victims of British policy.

Simply not true. I'm with darmstadt on this one. I think ARM are a great example of British ingenuity. Which is why I bought shares in them, and despite the slump in the value of sterling, I'm laughing all the way to the bank.
I think Britain is a great country. I'm a fan of the monarchy, England's legal system and culture, and Britishness in general. I just happen to believe that leaving the EU is/was a mistake, and Britain will suffer because of it. I'll be delighted if it doesn't - but (and I think this is the important point) we won't know for several years. It's even possible that historians will be arguing about whether it was good or bad in 50 years time! So all this grandstanding "oh, we're doing fine, bremoaners hate the country and just want to be vindicated by a collapse" is somewhat testicular.
Btw, how do you know that the success of ARM wasn't down to the UK being in the EU?
