Indeed. Talk is cheap. As with everything else at the moment, it should probably be viewed through the lense of the Tory leadership contest. He hasn't backed anyone yet, but his allies are backing May. He controls about 80 MPs. He wants to stay at the Treasury. He's just letting everyone know that he still exists. It's also worth noting that he has promised nothing and is waiting for updated fiscal forecasts in the Autumn Statement, by which time there would be a new leader and probably Chancellor. Certainly, most backbenchers want him gone.

He already committed to reduce it to 17% by 2020, so he'd need a lot lower than 15% and much quicker - Korbyn won't make it much further and David Miliband would certainly win elections in 2020.

There's always been a part of the Tory party that hated the EU because they thought exploiting the plebs was THEIR birthright and Johnny Foreigner should have nothing to say on the matter.
So lower corporation tax for their mates will be followed by removal of workers rights* that were guaranteed by the EU and abolition of the minimum wage*, as the economy tanks, because we have to "compete" now, don't we?
