It's the same principle that is being applied to the Scottish MP's who sit in Westminster, they are; at least theoretically; prevented from voting on England specific issues as they have their own Parliament to cover those issues.

They are NOT prevented on voting on English issues.

People with UK citizenship should have every God damn right to vote on UK issues if they feel like it.

Is there any other major democratic country that got such comtempt for its own citizens???

Wrong.

With the exception of local elections (in the EU and a very fewSwiss communities), non-citizens cannot register to vote in their country of residence. That means no choice regarding National/General elections and no voting in national referenda. Nor is there an automatic right of citizenship after a certain number of years.

I do think 15 years is not an unreasonable limit, however. By then in most countries you can at least apply for citizenship, if you want to.

Absolutely the moment that they meet the requirements to be granted a vote. The same way millions of people who have immigrated to the UK over many decades have already done.

A Commonwealth citizen living in the UK who has leave to remain in the UK or who does not require leave to remain in the UK

An Irish citizen living overseas who was born in Northern Ireland and who has been registered to vote in Northern Ireland in the last 15 years
